In late 2013 local resident Ryan Wood was very concerned about local development plans for the Gower site. Plans were being discussed about the demolition of the building and the creation of a small supermarket and housing. Ryan was worried about how this would affect local small businesses so started an online petition ….
For a few weeks not much happened Ryan stated but then with the help of Steve Goodchild and his wife the petition gained massive support from the local community and the wider area ….
Ryan became a catalyst for residents to begin the fight to save The Gower which led onto the creation of The Gower Heritage and Enterprise group, thank you Ryan for your determination and support to save The Gower building.
