Thanks to an EnviroGrant award of £600, work on the Borders Project go ahead. The Telford and Wrekin EnviroGrant Scheme has been set up by Veolia in Telford and Wrekin to help local people improve their environment and / or community with grants.
The Borders Project will enable volunteers to improve the area around The Gower building. It focuses on the West and North edges of the site that are currently much neglected. The Gower Groundforce volunteers will work over the period of the project to clear waste, build beds, prepare the ground and plant the borders up with sensory and visually attractive plants.
Sid Edwards, Activity and Volunteer Worker for the Gower Heritage & Enterprise Foundation said, “We are pleased our application was successful, it will allow us to transform the area into something much more attractive.”
